Well, we’ve been testing it for a while… I guess we can say that we officially support it. Probably Tabbles is easier to install in Win 7 rather than on XP…
in reply to: Windows 7 ??? #1289Uh, Inf2know is talking about Libraries and saved searches…nothing new since Vista, and very far from Tabbles indeed π
Tabbles should work just fine on Win 7 (which is not surprising since Win 7 is in reality Vista 1.1 π )
HI Miker, an welcome to the forum! π
try the latest beta (1.2 beta2 in the beta section of the forum), make sure you install the shell extension correctly. If it’s correctly installed, when you right click on a file/folder in windows explorer, so you’ll see the Tabbles icon next to "Categorize with Tabbles"… this is the first step towards what you’re asking for.
Let me know if this works for you!

in reply to: USB drive portability #1248Yeah, it makes a lot of sense…
it wouldn’t be too hard for us, but we want to develop some network capabilities before we think of it… but let’s see πin reply to: Auto-tagging feature enhancements…. #1245I useally place a date in the files for the letters or document I work on.
Parsing the filename and tagging the files based on the parsing could make sense ?yes my frrrrrriend, this is also in the 2do list π
in reply to: What is this karma mod? #1241It’s a sort of rating system for users… you got the karma from me π
do you like it?
in reply to: Auto-tagging feature enhancements…. #1234mrdna, I’m afraid we’ll soon need to start paying you a salary π
Thanks for the support, everyone!in reply to: Auto-tagging feature enhancements…. #1231Hi again,

First of all, I viewed your auto-tagging ‘blog’. I think that’s great. (It will force me to rename my folders in a sensible way). No, why? π
you hopefully won’t need that… the auto-tagging rules can be created by drag’n’dropping a folder into one or more tabbles…"spamname" wrote:
Another suggestion: If you select multiple files and request auto-tagging, you can also look for common words and pop up a box for user fine turning.
E.g.
Files:
1. Home Finances.mdb
2. Home ToDo.txt
3. Home Shopping List.txt…
Ok, we are planning to make it user define-able, meaning that the user can create a rule like: "if in the folder ‘c:something’ AND the file name contains ‘home’, then link all the files in the folder to these tabbles".
Your request makes some sense indeed…
Thanks for the contribution! btw, did you try the 1.2beta1 already?
in reply to: Auto-tagging and amp; Smart Tabbles #1226Hi Raj and welcome to the forum!
Currently the only smart tabbles are the extension tabbles… this other auto-tagging feature is in development. We expect this to be out in a month or so – it was planned to be out already but then we prefered tuning up the guy before.
I keep a sort of log of what we’re working on here.
Hope this helps!

ok, let me go through this:
"mrdna" wrote:
1. A tabble that automatically collects and contains naked pictures of my favorite celebrities.Far from impossible: it can be done with some smart auto-tagging!
"mrdna" wrote:
2. a tabble that will feed my cat.Not sure, but we can code a tabble that puts your cat on diet (by making you believe it’s feed it and not doing it) π
"mrdna" wrote:
3. an "Easy Tabble" that knows what I’m looking for and opens the one document I was really trying to find despite what I ask it.This would be Maurizio’s dream… I guess we could get close to it doing some pattern analysis (but this would requires a looot of code, like 10 man/years)
"mrdna" wrote:
4. a tabble that turns down the neighbor’s musicDifficult, but we can still make a tabble that turns your own music on at max volume π
"mrdna" wrote:
5. a dialogue box that asks me if I’m completely stupid when I combine tabbles and get no file resultsOk, this is a real thing: once a tabble is selected we should give the chance to hide all the tabbles that would produce an empty list if combined with it… it’s in the todo list somewhere (it takes some time to implement as nothing like this happens on the ground floor…)
"mrdna" wrote:
6 a 3-d environment where you must kill monsters in order to add a tabble to your query. If it kills you it eats one of your tabblesHAHAHAHAHA!!!
I’d love to see this!!! As soon as we’ll release APIs and people will be able to code their own plugin (hopefully next year) you can post as a plugin request πP.S.: I missed this post and found it again using the RSS feed… if you don’t wanna miss a post, RSS feed is the way to go.

in reply to: tabble web-gfx #1220Hello nefycee,
I guess that I can see what you mean… this looks like quite a lot of work, as it would mean saving the webpage locally and parsing it trying to understand which picture is the one you want to see. If I’m getting you right, what you’re asking for is a feature a bit like the one that facebook does when you post a link…
Indeed it would be a looot of work for us, which doesn’t mean it’s not gonna happen, just that it’s probably gonna happen in a while πAndrea
in reply to: Did you know? – (discuss here) #1200Matt:
Andrea – under what conditions would we want to reset the DB. I am assuming this would perform a complete reset back to "out of the box" tabbles setup. Correct?
-Matt
yes it would… I suggest you backup your db first! This is mainly in response to mrdna who’s playing a bit with some advanced functions…
cheers,
A.
This is a temp workaround, but it should work for a long time π
Anyway, this is the bes way to have your db reset and mos important to see if your db has a problem or if Tabbles doesn’t run for other reasons.
Just do the following:
1) find your Tabbles database and settings folder: it’s in your Documents and Settings folder, usually it’s in C:Documents and settingsyour_userTabbles
2) Rename the Tabbles folder: this will force Tabbles to start from a clean db, and it may help specially if you have an old installation and have updated many times.aright!
Just drag and drop from the Web browser (IE/Mozilla/Chrome/you_name_it) bar into a Tabble (or into a Combination), and Tabbles will categorize your email. You can later edit the name of the bookmark.
Alternatively: copy the address (from the address bar) and paste into several tabbles.
