    Yes, this will be done. the question is when , and the details. Are the notes per-user and per-file? i.e. can a file have many notes from many users? where do the notes appear? only in the tooltip? If it’s only in the tooltips, this is a simple task. Otherwise it is more difficult.

    Instructions: you need to use a free tool called “zeta resource editor”.

    You’ll have to donwload resource1.resx and create another file named something like resource1.ar-sa.resx.

    Tabbles does not alter PDF files, only Office files. Writing PDF files is surprisingly difficult. There don’t seem to be reliable libraries (APIs) for doing that. We tried 3 different libraries and they only support old PDF versions. And in rare cases they even destroy the PDF.

    Bottom line: if we are to develop this, we will need to find a company which needs the feature and funds the development.

    We have been busy with bugfixes and improving synchronization. I suppose the feature could be implemented in the next couple of months, but no guarantee. (Unless of course you can find funding for development of the feature.)

    Because without exact steps to reproduce the problem (with only a few files, not 1 Terabyte) there’s nothing we can do anyway.

    what do you mean “I restarted with v3.047 and problems gone” ?

    Simply restarting the pc fixed the problem?

    We made tests with onedrive but had no problems so far.

    I’m afraid you’ll have to give us _exact_ steps to reproduce.

    If you tag 1 Terabyte of docx files, with “write-to-metadata” enabled, tabbles will modify them, so of course onedrive will start uploading 1 Terabyte of docx files.

    But if you have disabled the “write-to-metadata” options, it does not make sense that onedrive is resyncing.

    we are developing synchronization support right now (i.e. support for dropbox , onedrive) so we’ll definitely do tests on it.

    Probably the Tabbles overlay handler is working, but windows is not showing the overlay icon because you have other overlay handlers installed, with greater priority.

    Open registry editor, and go to the location:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ShellIconOverlayIdentifiers

    You should see a key named 000TabblesOverlayHandler

    If there are other applications before, they are getting precedence over Tabbles.

    This is a Windows limitation. You cannot have two applications setting an overlay on the same file. Only one can do that, the others are ignored by Windows. Which one will be able to set the icon, is defined by the order in the registry.

    You can either rename the tabbles key to gain precedence, or uninstall the other applications.

    Let me know if my diagnosis is correct.

    this might be due to the overlay handler.

    1) please tell me what version you have installed.

    2) install the latest version, 3.0.47, which has an optimization in the overlay handler. After installing, restart explorer.exe manually (sometimes the installer fails to do that) or reboot the machine.

    3) if the problem persists with tabbles 3.0.47:

    3.A) send log_overlay_handler1.txt to bugs AT tabbles.net

    3.B) try disabling the overlay handler (menu > options > disable explorer overlay icons) , restart explorer.exe or reboot the machine, and tell me if the problem is still present.
