The "not" operator, aka "minus", is implemented in 1.0.24, just released. See changelog (http://tabblesold.net/en/support/recent-changes.html) for instructions.

One problem with your request is that these informations take up space. So

    1. Would it be acceptable for you if those informations appeared in a file’s tooltip?

    2. Please note that sorting files by date is already possible. (Actually you can sort by three different dates). Given that, do you think it is still needed to see the date beside each file? Could you provide a practical scenario where this is needed, or at least greatly increases productivity?

    3. If so, what kind of date do you need? Modification date, creation date, date the file was last opened with Tabbles, date a tabble was last added to the file? Why?

    4. as for file size: would it be enough to be able to sort files by size, and then see the file size in the file’s tooltip?

    Thank you

That’s true, but are you aware that there is a compact mode for files? We provided this for exactly the reason you mention. Please let me know.

Thanks a lot for all your suggestions, that’s the kind of feedback we need.

I have tried three other programs that do similar things to Tabbles and purchased one.

BTW, could you tell us what these products are? We may get some more ideas by examining them.

I see what you mean. Now, with file system monitoring and a first implementation of the Explorer context-menu in place, it might makes sense to implement more drag&drop.

    I don’t think I got your question. Sorry. 🙄

Anyway, version 1.0.21 is just out, with a first implementation of the explorer context-menu. You should also see TortoiseSVN’s context-menu among others.

Also what I do with photos where I use tagging a lot and intend doing here is to have tags which indicates the status of my processing the file.

This is a very good justification you offer. The feature will be available very soon, probably in the next release.

There is no release note yet. We are setting up a page for that. It should be up in a couple of days tops.

.NET was chosen mostly because 1) it has WPF which is vector-based; 2) it allows to code in a functional language like F#. Tabbles is entirely written in F#, which greatly reduces development time; 3) the .net api is huge and well backed, which in our eyes reduced the risk not to find the function that will do what you need.

I confess I had never heard of Adobe Air, which is interesting, being cross-platform.

Andrew, please note that we plan for Tabbles to display the same context menus as Explorer. That is, you will right-click a file and see the same context-menu that you see in Explorer.

So, if Tortoise is integrated with Explorer, it will automatically be integrated in Tabbles too.

Thanks John. You mean to add an item "unlink this tabble from this file" to the tabble option menu? That’s reasonable. Actually I had thought of it, but then I thought, "how often do you need to unlink something"? However, since it’s reasonable for that option to be there, it should be there. I am adding this to the TODO list.

Thanks. I’ve added it to the TODO list. we are also planning to make the tabble nucleus configurable with a custom bitmap.

Thanks for your feedback. 🙂 Drag & drop is planned. It will be possible to 1) drag files from tabbles onto external applications; 2) drag tabbles from suggested tabbles to files; 3) drag tabbles from suggested tabbles to open tabbles; 4) drag tabbles from one category to another.

Could you be more specific? What exactly would you like to drag, and where to?
