ok, this is good news: what we thought is that with the latest 2, the dll putting the 2 icons in WinExp (from a folder) wasn’t registered… but it looks like it is.
(the menu inside Tabbles doesn’t have those 2 icons at all, but the function is there, correct? This is how it’s supposed to be.)

Hello Veronique and welcome here! 😀

Thanks for your suggestions! I’m posting here the graphics that we got from the design who designed part of the Tabbles GUI.

On the top part you can see the tabble shapes that he designed for us: we have on our to-do list to implement them but it won’t be before at least a couple of months (the shared-tabbles have the highest priority…)

    Enjoy:

We’ve just found one more bug in the installer 😥 😥 😥

basically the 1.3.2 and 1.3.3 don’t install the shell extension… can you see the Tabbles’ icons when you right click in the windows explorer?

    thanks,

    A.

    Hello everybody,

guys, my apologies if we’re not very present here at the moment… in case you didn’t realize, we’re already at full regime and we’re not doing anything else than Tabbles, eating and sleeping (and sleeping is the thing we’re probably giving up the most).

Something interesting, I should be posting this on the blog maybe (oh, wtf, I’ll just link the blog to this) is that yesterday a russian blogger fellow found our offer (Tabbles business free from bloggers), wrote us, blogged about it and since then our traffic did triplicate and 7 other bloggers (all from the same blog) wrote us claiming their licenses…and some of them blogged about it… very interesting phenomenon.

After a conversation with one of those bloggers (pretty smart guy actually) about software prices in Russia, I had the idea of creating a "fair price campaign", you can read about it here: https://www.tabbles.net/en/buy.html.

Does it make sense? Let’s see.

If you’re curious to see those blogs writing about us, you find them among our delicious bookmarks (from grazr)

Now we’re focusing on making Tabbles stable again… plus: anyone is using/loving/hating the auto-tagging and one-click tagging features?

    see ya,

    Andrea

the installer is a tragedy, is the thing that is causing us the most problems… you wouldn’t believe it but 10-20% of the development time is spent on the installer (we have to thanks Microsoft for that)

Really? This means it will remain so?
My father doesn’t even know that a task manager exists 😯

How will people like him be able to install tabbles? 😕

    HALT!

ok, now I understand what you’re talking about!!!!
    PANIC
    😮

we’ve seen this but we thought it’s not common…what system do you have (XP 32? Vista 32?)

(I’ll speak to Maurizio about this)

Have had the program open for an hour or so (doing some testing) and this little pop-up popped up saying Tabbles was working in the background… Hmmm… I didn’t recall setting it on some herculean task to need background time. Turns out Tabbles was making sure the auto-tagging rules were being followed and it picked up and tagged files that had been added/moved when it was not loaded! Very nice!

I couldn’t find an on/off toggle for it, nor a way to rescan manually. On the to-do list? 🙂

    Cool feature.

    hey mrdna,

not 100% sure about this! What I know is that the cataloging part is in a separated thread and that is used for any tagging operation… but I’m not sure there is a piece of code that wakes up time to time and re-checks the folders… we need to ask this to Maurizio 🙂

    Hello!

1.Why is the installation not translated? 😛

    2. During the installation tabbles told me that I(!) have to close tabbles and windows explorer to continue?
I closed explorer and then tabbles also had to restart it ?! 😆

    My friend:
    1) we can’t do anything about the language of the installation…. 😥
    2) we can’t do anything about that either!!!! 😮

    dear mrdna,

not sure you are the only one, but I know that Maurizio found the source of this horrible crash: it was lurking into a thread (Tabbles has currently 5 threads running in parallel) and he’s pretty confident the problem is solved (we’re releasing tomorrow as long as nothing gets on the way in the next hours).

so, just wait until tomorrow! 🙂
(and thanks for the report OF COURSE!)

Hey, think about yourself: mrdna is at 75 posts, you’re still at 63! What are we gonna do here? 😆

it could be the formatting, yes! We’re having a bunch of problems with it… please write it on Mantis!

    Thanks 🙂
