in reply to: Encrypted Files #16248

How do I get TABBLES to transfer tagging when files are encrypted.

    For example: Ax Crypt

    Original File: “test.doc” (Tabbles tags: A, B, and C)

Encrypted File: becomes “test-doc.axx” (Tabbles tags: none, prompts to add new tags)

Decrypted File: returns to “test.doc” (Tables tags: A, B, and C)

Tabbles doesn’t seem to recognize it is the same file name with just an extension and all tags are lost until it is decrypted.  Problem is that while it is in the encrypted state, I cannot search using TABBLES because the tags are lost.

    Help.

But this apparently can be done pretty easily with Meta File Association (tagging pdfs and other files)? https://github.com/Dijji/FileMeta/wiki

Why can’t Tabbles use that method in its own tagging processes for non MS Office files?

    Hi there.

    Was this resolved?

“3. I’m missing a list view just like windows explorer’s. Small icons, more files.”

What was the solution for this? Agree 100% that a view in Tabbles that looks like the DETAILS view showing fileame, date, size and TAGS would be nice. The normal view in tabbles takes up too much space.
