I use two freeware file managers. The main one I use is Q-Dir – it has 4 panes, and MultiCommander which has 2. I can use the second if I must for Tabbles v3 but would rather use the first one.

Will Tabbles v3 be strictly work with Windows Explorer only?

    Thanks

PS Thanks for fixing the login 🙂

    Hi Andrea,

Would I need any of the others? After I posted the above message, I looked at some of the links you supplied on the BitsduJour offer page and it seemed that some other files were needed too.

I have never run SQL server before and things are not clear.

    With warmest regards

    Hi Andrea,

Which of all the downloads available from the link you supplied does one need? Do I install the 32 or 64 bit versions on my x64 Win 7?

    Thanks

    Hi Andrea,

Nice to know that both you and Tabbles are still around. PLEASE keep up the good work – your program is class-leading and I miss it.

    Happy New Year

    With kindest regards

The answer can be deduced from the forum. No sign of the dev for a long time. I have already uninstalled Tabbles as I do not like using abandonware.

I’d wait until you see concrete signs of progress being made…I am.

I did hear that v3 was 50% complete. But that was some time ago from Andrea himself. Seems dead now, such a shame.

Tabbles seems to be dead. Don’t even get a response from the devs to postings. getting close to the time to delete Tabbles – I don’t use abandonware.

    Such a shame.

Any idea when v3 will be making an appearance?

Are there any plans to introduce a feature that I requested ages ago? That was to allow the use to choose the shape as well as the colour of the Tabbles indicator.

Shame you cannot offer it to regular users or swap the home and student versions. Selling a better version ONLY to students etc only makes matters worse. Why no ‘home plus’ version?

I have never before seen an academic version that is a) better than a regular version and b) not available to regular users.

As a current user, can I get a discount to upgrade to a student licence 😀 😉 ? I knew I had children for a reason; one is in primary edu and the other secondary school. My brother is a univerity lecturer anomgst other things.

    With kind regards

    Hi Andrea,

I have no problem with the price reduction as long as it not for a better product.

I had a look at the link that you sent and the academic versions are the same as the retail versions as far as I could tell, not better.

It is not a big deal at all to register to post, I had to do it to post here so I am surprised an extra site for bugs is needed.

Also, if I report a ‘bug’ in a forum environment, somebody could either explain a work around or why the feature works as it does.

Thanks to you both. Will keep my eyes peeled. Personally, I like to check for updates manually. I find that >75% of programs that have an ‘update over the ‘net’ feature hardly ever seem to get updated – and manual updates are not only available on the web faster – but not always from the program’s own site.

Updates often appear on http://www.majorgeeks.com, for example, some days ahead of official releases.

Tabbles is an amazing program and even though I have only scratched the surface of its functions, find it already indispensable.

    Cheers

    >>1) I’m wondering why you keep using the contact form to write us?

Another reason was also to keep my criticism private, but if you prefer it in public so be it.

It also got faster replies 😆 .

    More specifically?

Not just whether they are on or off, but the amount of time that they stay on the screen for.

    Cheers
