I was just looking at the versions comparison table.

I was surprised to see that the student version is not only cheaper, but has more features than the home version. I have nothing against student prices., but they should not get BETTER versions than those paying the full price.

From looking at the table, IMHO the home and student versions should be swapped over.

      Hello there,

well, thanks for the heads-up… but we have our reasons and apparently we’re not the only ones – check for instance academicsuperstore.com

      Hi Andrea,

I have no problem with the price reduction as long as it not for a better product.

I had a look at the link that you sent and the academic versions are the same as the retail versions as far as I could tell, not better.

Yep, the student is something between the home and the business… consider that we sell the student version only to those who prove to be related to schools/universities.

Shame you cannot offer it to regular users or swap the home and student versions. Selling a better version ONLY to students etc only makes matters worse. Why no ‘home plus’ version?

I have never before seen an academic version that is a) better than a regular version and b) not available to regular users.

As a current user, can I get a discount to upgrade to a student licence 😀 😉 ? I knew I had children for a reason; one is in primary edu and the other secondary school. My brother is a univerity lecturer anomgst other things.

      With kind regards

When we were young folks had kids to have someone change the channels and answer the phone for them, now with remotes and cell phones we have kids for the software discounts and a vain hope they take care of us in our dotage. At least taking out the garbage and mowing the lawn ain’t much different… 😆 (wife and I each have a 22 yo…)
