(Updated 25 February 2019)
(These .resx include the strings added in the release of Tabbles 5, build 5.5.1 and Confidential 1.5.1)Hi guys, we need help with translating the software: if you’re willing to help, we’ll be happy to give a free Tabbles Pro license 🙂
How to translate the software
— Before you start, please check with us if someone is already working on the file, write a post below or use the contact form —
1) Install Zeta Resource Editor and then watch our tutorial. Note that you need to open the two resx file (the one for English and the one for your language) side by side, otherwise you will not see the strings that are only present in English.
2) Download our latest language files (.resx) pack attached in the bottom of this post and unzip. Then you’ll need to open the English .resx file and the file of the language you want to translate, together, side by side, in Zeta Resource Editor. Most of the languages are around 70% translated already.
Important: when you see stuff like {T} or [N] or (T) or {PRODUCT} or {PRODUCTURL} or {BUGSURL}, those have to be in the translation as well and left untouched. Those special strings will be replaced by some text or a number while using the software (e.g.: “you have deleted (T) tags” will become “you have deleted 25 tags”).
If, in the localized resx that you are editing, you see some {PRODUCT} tag that is not there in the corresponding English string, and therefore should not be there, please remove the {PRODUCT} tag from the localized resx as well.
3) When you’re done, send to file to us (you can reply here or drop us an email).
Thanks in advance!!! And please let us know if you have any question! 🙂

Hi
it seems there are some keys existing in French but in english: should I remove them?
Hi Ursus,
You wrote:
1) it seems there are some keys existing in French but in english: should I remove them?
– those are deprecated, so you can delete them or leave them there… in any case they’re not used any longer.2) “detached disk” is it when the disk is not connected to the system such as a distant disk unconnected or an unplugged usb key?
– Yes, that’s what it is.Thanks!
Andrea
when you are talking about “detached disk” is it when the disk is not connected to the system such as a distant disk unconnected or an unplugged usb key? or is it a state specific to Tabbles?
@flop: you can send the resx to maurizio@tabbles.net.
If you need a temporary build to test the translation, I’ll build it and send it to you.
Thanks
Hi all, I’m going to do the translation in German. If there is anyone already working on it, please let me know.
Oh, I forgot to ask. Should the translation be done formal or informal?
Thanks Claudia!
Informal please. Prefer clarity over formality.
There could be someone else (our old pal “nefycee”) working on German, but I don’t know if he’s active. I told him to write here if he has done something. If he does not write in a couple of days, you can assume you are alone.
PS: we are migrating the forum so this message might disappear.
Claudia, our friend already working on the German translation can be contacted at alexander@tabbles.net
Sorry for the delay. Could you please contact him? Thanks
Hi again
I’m back after finishing my studies
The “partition serial number” mentioned is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volume_serial_number ?Hi, I’m willing to help to translate a Simplified Chiense version, is there anyone already on it?
in zip format… (I’ve not found the “edit post” feature. Sorry for double post so…)

Hi guys, sorry for the delay but we have done some major improvements which kept us too busy. Let me update you on the translations:
Chinese translation: done. License already sent to Liven Cheng. Thank you very much.
French translation: could you please summarize how many people are working on it? I see @fotnetval and @flop25. Did you work together or separately? I still have to examine the files you sent. thanks
@Claudia (German translation)
It seems there are many missing strings in your translation. I believe you only changed the strings that were already translated in Geman, but did not translate any new string, which was only present in English but not in German.
I believe in Zeta Resource Editor you did not open the English resx and the German resx side by side, so you did not see the strings which were not present in the German resx.
To understand how to open the English and German resx side by side, please look at our tutorial.
Could you please let me know if you can add those missing strings? Thank you.
Hi, I can do Russian or Ukrainian, if no one else is on it.
I’d like to help! Is anybody working in the Spanish Translation?
Hi guys,
@Yevgeniy N Yes please, translate to Russian
@Miguel Please translate to SpanishThank you ?
Hi, I wish to help to translate a Persian version, is there anyone already working on it?
Hi, I’m going to do the translation in Persian. If there is anyone already working on it, please let me know.
Hello,
interested in working on dutch translation. Let me know how I can be of assistance.
Wouter
Hi Wouter, yes, we are interested in the Dutch translation. There are a lot of missing strings, as you can see in this screenshot.
Feel free to proceed. 🙂
I have updated the original post with the latest strings (file tabbles-resx-2017-02-20.zip)
By the way, we also need the German translation again, since Claudia seems to have disappeared.

Ok, I’ll help. Lots of work though, so may take some time 🙂
Hi all, I’m going to do the translation in persian(farsi). If there is anyone already working on it, please let me know.
Hi all, I’m going to do the translation in persian(farsi). If there is anyone already working on it, please let me know.
Thanks but we already have Farsi (see Tabbles 4.1.2)
Hi All,
I’d like to translate Tabbles into Brazilian Portuguese (pt-BR) language.
Are there someone translating the resx file into pt-BR at this moment?
Please, let me know. Many thanks for your attention.
Best regards,
Moe Oliveira
@Maurizio
Thanks for your quick reply.
Basically “pt-BR” is the same as “pt” or “pt-PT”, with some little differences, recognizable by both Brazilian and Portuguese natives, something as in “en-UK” and “en-US”.
I saw that there are many untranslated strings and some others which translations could be improved too.Regards.
Ok Maurizio, I will start with pr-BR, which is my mother tong.
Thanks for your attention.
Much appreciated.Best regards from Brazil.
Hi all, I’m going to do the translation in Arabic. If there is anyone already working on it, please let me know.
BTW, I’ve uploaded the latest resx files in the first post.
tabbles-resx-2017-03-11.zip
there are a dozen new strings added since Tabbles 4.1.
If you have already started the translation, just replace the Resource1.resx file you are using with the new version, and you’ll see the few new strings.
Ok, I’ll help. Lots of work though, so may take some time.
Thanks for your attention.Hello Andrea, I would like to correct the french language as some translation are quite incorect and/or irrelevant…Also, some are also leading the user to not understand what does the “command” or what’s the purpose of it.
Please let me know if you’re interrested…
Also, I will send you a separate email with some suggestion regarding functionalities to get the the program more user-friendly.
Tks,
Fred@Maurizio Please check the Resource1.zh-CHS, it follows English items of tabbles-resx-2017-03-11.zip.

@plato-wu It looks like you have translated the missing strings. Thank you. Can you write to me in private to have your activation key? (maurizio @ tabbles.net)
I see you also fixed one existing string. “or_subfolders”. Did you also have a look at other existing strings? Were they ok?

Any help needed for Latin American translation (Mexico)?
Hi @Eric Trogneux,
we’d be happy if you could complete our Spanish translation – thanks! 🙂
hello. i can help translating into arabic.
if there is no one working on it right now.I suppose French translation is not finished. The actual French translation is strange… do you have a Japanese translation as well? I can translate in both French and Japanese. For the Japanese language, it will depend on what I need to translate.
You need to proofreading of French translation which is sometimes not correct. At least, some phrases are wrong.
Just let me know your decision. I already bought your program anyway.
Hi @Eden Genesis,
If you want to work on the French or Japanese version, you’re most welcome – and now it’s the time! We’re happy to hand you a license of our new baby Confidential if you prefer. Confidential is compatible with Tabbles (it’s built on top of it) so you should be able to switch to Confidential from Tabbles with no issues (let us know if you want to do so).
Thanks! 🙂
hello
is anyone working on hebrew translation?Hi, work done. German Version is uploaded.
PeterAttachments:
oh, wrong file…
Attachments:
Hi Peter,
we built your .resx in the latest Confidential build (1.0.7): https://www.confidential.tech/downloads/
You’ll need to uninstall Tabbles when installing it (as it has the same product code), but it uses a different database than Tabbles, so when you re-install Tabbles your data will be there.
If you want to stick to Confidential (we’d hand you a license for it), you first need to export your DB from Tabbles (File > Database > Export to XML) and then reimport it in Confidential (File > Database > Import from XML).
Please let me know if you have questions!
It seems, WYSWYG editor is broken, or <p> are not supported, (i can’t edit previous post, sorry)
The .resx file from Tabbles is the same on Confidential build?
I see others put translations file here, ok
File name schema will be Tabbles {version} {spanish} {date} (make easier things approach)
Tabbles-4.1.12-spanish-20171026.7z (for example)
PD: I could update easily spanish translation in next builds too 😉
Best regards, Tabbles team
Hi there from @TarekJor, hello world 😀
The spanish translation for Tabbles-4.1.12 is complete, now I am correcting typos and “proper registry” to more “neutral” and “functional” registry “than too formal”, for example:
– Neutral is functional, is not “vulgar” or “non-polite” (to be clear)
– Spanish language has a “very formal” pronoun for “you” (among other things) => “usted”
I think “usted” is too formal, and “creepy” (it is better “tú”, or even omit pronoun (more clean on spanish)
– The language “registry” is neutral “Latin América, España (Spain)… etc” without “region-speficic-concepts”
– Anglicisms are used “if they are accepted” or “a convention”, otherwise not
For example “debug” is “accepted” even existing translation as “depurar”, db “as acronym” is “database” => “base-de-datos” but “db” is a “acronym-convention” cross-language… etc
– I checked and corrected-improved the “yet-translated” strings for spanish from “previous resx file”
– I will upload soon (today, in some hours), when I finish some things– I am testing now, all works “good”, template invokation from {expressions} etc…
What do you think?, are you agree about “registry” and “to be functional” on translation?
I think this app is very “UX-friendly”, but is for IT people “with some knowledge or niche”, so I keep “clear expression”, “clean grammar” but “adequacy” to “major public of Tabbles”.
PD: I comment this, because I take serious this (my work in general) (I am developer too), before I release the .resx file definitely (keep-it-easy)
Best regards 😉
Hola @tarekjor 🙂
I went through your list, I agree with all (especially with “usted” vs “tu”, we’re doing the same thing now with German, thanks to Peter who just completed the translation). If you upload the .resx here, we’ll put together a build that you can test before releasing it.
Thanks a bunch for your help!!! 🙂
Andrea
Is there any help for German translation needed?
Tobias 🙂
Hi Andrea, it’ll be a pleasure.
I just sit here and wait for your input.

Alright, I’m starting translating in Greek. Great software, by the way!

A question. The “show a popup which allows one-click tagging” line starts with a lower case letter. Is it a continuation of another sentence? I couldn’t find it so far in a menu. Do such lines need special treatment, in general?
Hi there,
Thanks for you interest here 🙂
you’ll find that string on this window. In general, use the same lower/upper case as you see in the English text, without worrying too much. Otherwise, be VERY careful about {T} or [N] or (T) or {PRODUCT} or {PRODUCTURL} or {BUGSURL}, as explained in the post on top, because messing up with those can get the software to crash…
Thanks!
Andrea
Excuse me, can I translate it into Chinese?
