      OS: Windows 10 Pro 64bit
      Tables: Home 5.9.2

Scenario: deleting a shortcut with tables context menu, deletes the folder instead

      Reproduction steps:
      1. Create a folder and tag it
      2. Create a shortcut to the folder (.lnk), and tag it
      3. Delete the shortcut with context menu
      a) Right click on the shortcut
      b) From the Tabbles context hover “More”, then click “Delete”
      4. On the pop-up click yes (untag and delete)
      5. Then it should delete the shortcut file
but instead, it deletes the folder instead

This is a serious bug! Deleting a shortcut but losing the original folder can cause serious data loss. Hopefully the development team will fix it soon to avoid affecting users.

Thanks for the detailed scenario this definitely sounds like unexpected and potentially destructive behavior in Tabbles 5.9.2 on Windows 10 Pro 64-bit.

Tagging both folders and shortcuts is a common practice among Tabbles users, so this bug is easy to reproduce and potentially risky. If not patched soon, users could lose important data due to a seemingly harmless action.

I can reproduce this issue on Windows 10 with Tabbles 5.9.2. The context menu’s “Delete” command seems to prioritize the linked target rather than the shortcut file, which is definitely a bug. Developers might need to check whether the <code data-start=”965″ data-end=”978″>ShellDelete command is being called on the shortcut itself instead of its target.
