Preliminary new feature list:
– Tabbles now uses Microsoft SQL Server: install your own server (creating the db is really easy) or use our Cloud version.
– Fully functional multi-user environment, with centralized management, scalable to the infinite and beyond.
– File tracking: you can move/rename/delete files in Explorer without losing the tagging (working only on Windows Vista, 7 and 8).
– Icon overlay: files tagged show an overlay icon in Explorer.
– More to come soon
Users of older versions: you can import your db from File > Tabbles’ database > Import data from XML

neither do i… but trust me, there is really no knowledge required.- you simply download the SQL Server (google told me to pick “x64\SQLEXPRWT_x64…”)- just “next-next-next…”-install it.- also install tabbles 3 beta- and when you open tabbles there is a link to a short video that shows you all there is to doregarding setting up the SQL Server.(yes i know, there is one thing you need to change, that you could have done during the SQL Setup…but this way its easier for you :)—————————————————————————–however, I have a question myself.for me there is no point in having a server-based solution with shared tags acrosss the network, if a user on a different PC goes into a goup shared tabble… but cant open a single file because it always says because that hard drive is not connected…. obviously…the whole point for me using it would be to simplify finding files without the need to search through folders after folders… but they need to be able to open it.now, i tried open my own pc over the network and simply adding the files in that window… cuz the path then works on every computer within the network…. but the programm crashes every time i try that.even adding a file and changing the path afterworks doesn’t work.same would be tagging a file on a network server… for example, how does that work – because so far i cant tag network files – the program always crashes.is that supposed to work, but simply doesnt work yet ? if so, thats fine for me.or is it not supposed to work anyway ? if so, then tabbles is pointless for me & my company.it would just be nice to know.thank you 🙂
Need more info on how to install and configure the SQL server. I know nothing about databases.ThanksDrT
