@mikolajek: basically you’re trying to tag files on an UNC (that is, a path like \\fileserver\folder\ ).
Tabbles doesn’t support that: in order to tag those files, you need to map your NAS to a letter (I assume you know how to do that). In our next release, we’ll manage this exception, meaning that instead of crashing, Tabbles will show an error message. But if you map your drive, you’re good to go already.

in reply to: New Release Date #9698@alexey: Tools > Advanced > Show debug log
in reply to: New Release Date #9690Hello ALexey,
please do it again and send us the debug log. The thing you’re describing should happen if something is going wrong or if you’re trying to tag several thousands files at the same time.
Thanks,
Andrea
in reply to: New Release Date #9688Hello Guy,
using the file I mentioned, you’ll install the SQL Server and Management Studio (which you will shortly need to setup the database, there should be good instruction on our manual in the wiki). I don’t think you need anything else.
You’re welcome to add me on skype if you need more guidance: andrea.tabbles

I would assume you’re asking about the SQL Server? Then you’ll need the file ENU\x64\SQLEXPRWT_x64_ENU.exe from here: http://www.microsoft.com/…x?id=29062
Ok?

Sorry – you got caught through a version change… please try and download the latest version (currently 3.0.4), it will work fine.
Thanks,
Andrea
in reply to: New Release Date #9613Hi Bumblebee,
the “Express” version is free and we’re testing Tabbles mostly on it.
Check this out: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29062
BR,
Andreain reply to: New Release Date #9608Hello Bumblebee,
you can install Microsoft SQL Server 2013 on your pc, it runs on pretty much any Windows, and it’s less painful than what it may sound.
We’ll update the manual with detailed info soon.

Andrea
in reply to: Default location for Tabbles Data #9607Hello World,
I can see this topic is getting trendy…
We hardcoded the location of the config files as we had issues in the past with that. Every now and again someone complains about it, but it appears not to be a game stopper, therefore it’s very low on our to-do list.
Said that, if you install the beta of Tabbles 3 (which we’ve actually just updated), you’ll see all the tagging data is now stored in a Microsoft SQL database, so this folder issue is becoming old news.
We strongly recommend you let the old version (2.x) alone and move to the 3.0 at once. You can get the beta here:

in reply to: Can I alter shortcut keys? #9568Hello!
no, currently that’s not possible…
BR,
Andreain reply to: New Release Date #9531Hello Bumblebee,
that’s not correct: we’ll have for sure a free version running on our hosted db, and maybe more… we haven’t made up our minds yet.

in reply to: New Release Date #9423Hello Quirkygal,
the website needs some reworking (and we’ll do that soon). Until then, we’re updating our Facebook page:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Tabbles/152763993426
Anyway, the version 3.0 has been in beta for a while, you can get it here and it come with the following instructions:
https://tabbles.net/counter/click.php?id=18
– Tabbles 3 require Microsoft SQL Server: you can create the db in your LAN (from Tabbles) or try it on our Cloud server (you can register an account straight from there) which will be slooooow but you can get an idea.
– The file tracking works (!) in Vista, Windows 7 and 8 (no current plan to implement it in Win XP).
– For existing users: you can import your db from File > Tabbles’ database > Import data from XMLHappy new year everyone 🙂

in reply to: Video Thumbnails #9376Hello,
unfortunately we don’t handle this at the moment.

in reply to: More control over DB #9364Hello
1) you don’t, the db is in Documents\Tabbles\Databases
in the version 3 (the one we’re testing now) you use a MS SQL Server DB.2) Nope.
– sometimes we do read it 🙂
