Evernote has an open API to connect to notes, notebooks, tags and read and write from and to them.

Considering the possibility to attach any file to a note it would be quite cool to basically have tabbles upload a directory, complete with subdirectory and all and have it write all the assigned tabbles as tags to a notebook. Also, a new tag for a note in a specified notebook triggering the creation of a new tabbles for a file would be great – that way, meta management of my files via notes + tags along with sorting management through tabbles would basically become one.
