hello, I have just discovered Tabbles and I am trialling it at the moment. Looks great up to now. 😀

Do you have any plans to implement thumbnail views for PDF/Doc files etc, in the Tabbles Explorer window as per the native Windows Explorer. This feature would vastly increase productivity .

      Best Regards

      oops, we forgot that,

I’m not 100% sure but I guess this would be a looooot of work as it requires opening the doc, loading the first page, taking a snapshot and save it… I don’t think we’ll do this anytime soon – also it’s just the second time we hear it.
Just FYI, on top of the list we have the "shared tabbles" feature (check here).

      Cheers,

      A.

I did not realise it was so much work, I use Directory Opus as my main file manager and it manages the sames trick as the native Windowas explorer, i.e it displays files as thumbnail images. PDF, DOC, XLS etc. I believe it does this using activex.

It’s just makes it a lot easier to quickly identify a file when you can see the contents displayed along with the file name.

      Best Regards

      Hey Andrea,
Would there be anyway to leverage Microsoft technology built into XP/Vista/7, to support the preview of PDFs, since I got my machine to preview them. (Though I admit I still am envious of my Mac at work’s PDF preview quality compared to my Windows based PC) 🙄

      Hey there,

I think the answer is still the same as last time… plus, now we’re really close to having the client-server version working 🙂
