Hi and thank you for amazing software you’ve developed. I am currently testing it and I encountered with one issue. I have two hard drivers (internal and external) and I sync them. Is it possible using the new feature “set unique name” somehow to unite these two drivers under the same name? I mean to be able to use the same database for two drivers (which, of course, are not connected at the same time). I found out, that it is not possible to set for two hard drivers the same unique name.
Thank you very much for your reply.

      Hello,

unfortunately this is not currently possible… maybe in the future.

Thanks for the replay! Well, in this respect if I make a sync, Tabbles shows me all files double from two different locations: from internal and external HDD at the same time. Im just trying to guess which is one correct / or have a correct location. This issue can be possibly solved if Tabbles will control which files currently are available just by controlling which drivers are currently connected (possibly with some additional checkmark somewhere in menu…). Anyway, again, many thanks for amazing software, which can save my life without any doubts..

      Hi,

you should be able to tell the file in the disconnected drive, because it appears with an “unplugged” icon. And if you sort your files by modification date, the connected file will appear on top, and the disconnected file with appear in the bottom. So I don’t really understand the problem.

The true problem with your scenario seems to me that you have to tag each file twice. Right?

The good news for you is that we are going to handle synchronized drives (and folders) in Tabbles 3.1.

We also call this “Dropbox integration”.

With Tabbles 3.1, you will be able to tell Tabbles that a folder is synced, and therefore has a “twin” folder. This way, when you tag a file, the “twin” file will be tagged as well. You don’t need to tag twice.

Thank you very much again for the replays. The “Dropbox integration” that is what I want to have! Yes, it is correct. I am tagging each file twice so it was my problem. Sometimes I want to locate my files from my laptop (external HDD) sometimes from my local PC with its own HDD. Two folders are always identical. I am really very thankful for your good news (about Tabbles 3.1 and its new functions) and for your amazing solution to my problem.
