- You can add custom document properties via: - File > Info > Properties > Advanced Properties 
- As far as I know, Word itself doesn’t let you add tags directly inside the document properties. What I usually do is save the file, then go to File Explorer, right-click, and add tags there. - The best way is either through File → Info → Tags or by right-clicking the file in Explorer → Properties → Details tab → Tags. 
- Is there a way to add tags directly in a Word 365 document on Windows 11, or do I have to go outside to File Explorer to do it?”
