Hello dear forum regulars,
here’s a new update about the languages and the localization.
What’s new:
last time we passed you an .xls containing the strings translated in several languages by Google translate. Now we found a more efficient system: you’ll still get a list of pre-translated strings (that you can fix/improve) but instead of an .xls we’re passing you a .resx file, the file used in Visual Studio for the localization.
The only big difference for you is that you’ll need to use Zeta resource editor. The software is pretty simple to use (yet quit powerful!), plus there are some training video on the site…which you probably won’t even need.Update: a good alternative to Zeta is ResEx, the good side of using the resex is that it shows the comments that the developer (Maurizio! ) wrote in the code.
The localization files: now includes also the resx for the shell extensions and are related to the latest version which you can download from here (also check if there is a beta out).
—> Download the the latest resx here
(We’re updating it constantly…)1) The file Resx_1_group.zreproj (not included in this .zip) is the project file: it simply contains links to the .resx files (which is where the languages are). I guess that this file will be broken as the paths stored are absolute. I guess you’ll need to create a new project and…
2)… add the .resx files contain the languages, one for each language. After creating the project you need to add them to the project…after 2 minutes of fiddling I’m sure you’ll find out how Zeta resource editor. If want to see a new language in Tabbles and there is no .resx yet for it:
By the way, Zeta resource editor has many advanced functions like import/export from/to .xls, and even a function to translate automatically a language. Therefore:
1) Create a new file:
2) pick a language, select English as reference language, check "Copy text from reference language" and "Automatically translate…"
What do we need from you?
All we need back is the .resx of your language…if in doubt zip the whole thing and upload it on this thread.
If 2 people are looking to translate the same language (unlucky but possible) please guys let’s try to coordinate ๐Ok, that’s it!
[anchor]chinese[/anchor]Chinese/Japanese – second update
Some good news: you can just use the Zeta resource editor and the latest .resx pack. Inside you will find already the .resx files for the languages for Chinese (zn-CN, I assume it’s Chinese traditional) and for the Japanese language. They’re simply copies of the English .resx, so what you’ll have to do is replace the English strings with strings in your language.
THAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANKS!!!!

AndreaEdit:
xlsX was my the problem ๐ฟ
sorryโ
PS: to all
Remember thatThe wallpaper has been set. You might want to change the tabble text color for readability. You can do that from "Misc -> Configuration -> Colors and wallpaper".
is now Options->Colors and wallpaper

Great! I just uploaded a new .resx file, which includes the .cz language (translated by google). Just follow the instructions in the first post and write me if any problem arises! (I’m sending you a license via PM…)
Thanks,
Andrea
Help needed with French!
Guys, we just realized that we lack a french version ๐
Any volunteer willing to fix the google translated french version? The file is here:
Tabbles_1.3_French_google_translated.xls.zip
THANKS!
Nefycee: don’t worry, we’ll keep the forum open ๐
We’re aware of the limitation of getsatisfaction. It’s cool for new users cause they don’t need to register, but for us (the original hardcore users) the forum is gonna be the place to be"Andrea" wrote: Hello dear forum regulars,

Ok Andrea,
Here you may find the zip with resx files including the Romanian translation.
A word of notice, though.
1) Some expressions (computer slang, let’s say) are already in use, and I preferred not to translate them literally, since people use them in everyday use of computers. They are just a few, such as "popups", and "zoom", it seems, I really can’t find others right now.
2) Another thing, Tabble is a name, and also a registered trademark, therefore, although a close translation would have been to use the word for table, i’d rather keep the name tabble for table and tabbles for the translation of tabbles.
3) And, the last one, as a fellow said before, some real life testing is necessary, may even a second opinion. I’ll pass the translation around to some of my friends, just to be sure.
I’ll wait for your comments and if needed, i’ll do any modifications you my find necessary.
Congratulations for this excellent piece of software and keep up the good work !Dorin
PS: i tried to get it done by Christmas ๐ but i just discovered the product a couple of days ago.

Hey Dorin, this is excellent, thanks a lot! ๐
It’s funny that we have so many ties with Romania: the e-sales service we use (avangate) is mostly operated from Bucarest.
Thanks again and happy new year!Andrea
As promised and just in time for the new year 2010.
Hope you find this to your satisfaction, it has taken many hours to do as the text in English is sometimes a big ambiguous and takes a bit to figure out when you sit down to translate it.
Very grateful for the Italian and German for their translations, they served in moments of doubt.
Hope the Spanish users will enjoy this great software as much as I do.
Kind regards,
Nicholas.Happy new year to all…I wish you all have the energy to pursue your most inpired dreams!

mrdnaHello minarg and thanks mrdna for the warm welcome :)!
Ukrainian is not on our list of "strictly necessary" languages, and we actually have already someone translating the latest version of the string to Russian… but if there is something else you think you might do from this list, than we’ll be glad to hand you a license! ๐
thanks,
Andrea
Unfortunately during past two weeks I made my transition to linux. I wasnt sure until now, whether I will be using windows ever again. Now I know I will not. So unfortunately I will not be doing polish translation.
Good luck with your software tough!I would try to translate it to arabic
the base resx file link is down
please refresh linkHello, the latest resx files are here:

Instructions: you need to use a free tool called “zeta resource editor”.
here is a video tutorial explaining how to use Zeta (for russian: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rurdvrFOFI)
You’ll have to donwload resource1.resx and create another file named something like resource1.ar-sa.resx.
Thank you!
as you know arabic is “right to left” language but english is “left to right language” so if i tried to do it in a regular way the words would mess up so i have to make words is in the program written from right to left , how can i do that?
Hi!
I’m currently tweaking the french version… dozen typos… that is in sublime text editor. Zeta is running, but so is visual studio if I reboot. (Which is actually better?)When I opened the file in sublime, I noticed that many tags were offset, in zeta, there are also many blanks (new version). Will the resources be sorted by key name when I export? Are any designations obsolete.Should developer comments be translated too? Do you have a solid link to .resx String formatting? (var) = string and {int} number? What are your own specifications (although I infer some), is there more available? Are there unacceptable characters or escape sequences?Less technical, while I don’t use french software, There were things I wanted to rephrase, semantically there are things I would change from the wiki. (If that’s open? Where/who to discuss?)I’d like to take charge, let me know asap. I’ll share a dropbox link or you can diff. One of typos, other + smoother semantics.Thanks!- This reply was modified 10 years ago by Andrea.
Hi there,
I hope I’m not writing too late ๐Let’s see:Zeta is running, but so is visual studio if I reboot. (Which is actually better?)Use Zeta, definitely! When I opened the file in sublime, I noticed that many tags were offset, in zeta, there are also many blanks (new version).Use Zeta! What is this Sublime? What are the tags? Yes, there are many blanks cause the 3.0 hasn’t been localized yet. Will the resources be sorted by key name when I export? What are your own specifications (although I infer some), is there more available? Are there unacceptable characters or escape sequences? We don’t know about this… we just know that Zeta works for the job, so I suggest you stick to it!Less technical, while I donโt use french software, There were things I wanted to rephrase, semantically there are things I would change from the wiki.
