Where we have our Tags set in Parent-Child Hierarchical relationships, for example:-

Home – Tax – Council Tax

Is there a way of including the Parent tags Home – Tax when we tag a document with Council Tax?

This would allow searching at each or multiple Tag levels.

I know that we can do something like this with Auto-Tagging but I need to apply all the tags wherever the files reside

      Hi Martin,

with your setup, currently when you browse “Home” you also find the content of its children-tags. The other way around is not true and it doesn’t make sense.

What problem are you trying to solve?

Yes, there are a few standard ways to achieve this, though the exact method depends on the specific document management system (DMS), knowledge base, or content platform you are using (e.g., SharePoint, Alfresco, a custom database, etc.).

      You can:
Check if there are “auto-tagging rules” that can be configured to add “Tax” and “Home” when tagging “Council Tax”. (Tabbles has auto-tagging functionality based on regex, etc.)
Do an external script/automation, if the Tabbles API allows it, so that after tagging the child tag, the parent tag is added.
