Well, we've been quiet for a while... but we're not been lazy, I promise!

First a (sad) note about the forum:
Our forum is now officially f*#@ed-up! I tried to install the mod phpbb-seo but failed miserably, had to roll back and now the icons of the theme are gone and I don't know what to do... any solution would be welcome at this point, and any one willing to help is gonna become my personal hero!
The point is I believe our forum needs SEO-friendly urls and other SEO related stuff, cause right now there 1500+ posts and Google seems to ignore this fact...
I'm right now considering:
- Migrating to SMF (which has a built-in SEO-friendly engine... dunno what it does but sounds ok from a first view)
- Installing a clean pre-modded phpbb3 and importing the old messages into it
- Once again, we're open to anything from anyone!

Now on with the good stuff: this beta comes with a bunch of new stuff and a bug of bug fixes.
The most importan news:
- We moved to .net framework 4: this brings a lot of improvements mostly with memory use (Tabbles should now use around 50%-60% less memory than before!) and the fonts which are way more readable now. The installer will point you to the site where you can install the .net framework 4, and the installation should be quite painless
- New list-like view: an new view was added that doesn't hyphen filenames (it's been set as the default one... as windows does).
- Tree like Childre-tabbles menu: on any tabble in the main window that has children, you can click on the small tabble on its bottom right to see and interact with them
- SIngle installer for standard and portable -> shell integration and bookmarklet for portable too: need Tabbles portable? Just install it on your USB stick using the standard .msi installer. Then, in the tabbles installation folder, create a file called _portable and Tabbles will magically turn into Tabbles portable! On the PC where you performed the installation (given that the Tabbles USB is always on the same letter) you'll be able to use the explorer integration and the browser integration too... if you want those also on other PCs, just re-perform the installation on the same folder of the USB stick: the installer should overwrite just the program and not the database or the configuration (but please backup it anyway...) so in reality the only difference will be that it will install explorer integration + browser integration on each pc.
- A ridiculous amount bug of small and big bugs has been fixed: read the looong change-log below.
RC1:
Much improved startup time
High-res icons (only Vista and Win 7)
reduce nr. of visible files (improved memory usage)
Improved procedure to fix errors in db: everyone should run it once in while!
Download the .exe (RC1)
(if this is the first time you install Tabbles, remember that you need the .net framework 4)
And now, the real (scary) change-log - no, we've not been lazy:
RC1:
On Tabbles Portable, no rules will be triggered if not on the portable disk
Bug in beta1: you see too many tabbles in the workspace
Bug: subtraction works now fine with father-tabbles
Bug in beta1: tagging from Firefox didn't bring the quick tag window in foreground
Shortcut to delete using the "del" keyboard button
When deleting several files in Tabbles, the window for the multiple files appears
Beta1
major crash fixed: in gallery file view, tabbles would crash when you click on any file.
major usability improvement: combinable tabbles in the main body now have a popup menu with the combinable children.
So you no longer need to open a tabble just to see its children tabbles.
major ui change: new file view, single column, file name does not wrap.
major usability: fonts are now sharper and more readable. previously they were fuzzy. (thanks to WPF 4).
You can now show the file folder below each file. This is useful e.g. when you have opened a tabble, you see a bunch of files, but you only want to select files from a given folder.
major crash fixed: gallery mode would crash as soon as you clicked a file.
Fixed major bug: if you drag a tabble onto its parent, the tabble would disappear from the tree, and thereafter would be impossible to open, even with the quick-open dialog. (The only way to get it back was to locate the tabble below some file, and drag the tabble back into the tree.)
crash fixed: drag an extension tabble into another (round) tabble: crash.
bug fixed: locate an extension tabble created on the fly, shown below a file; copy and paste it into another tabble. you get "the clipboard contains invalid data".
In gallery mode, the file icon (containing the thumbnail) is bigger.
Improvements in the logic which computes the combinable tabbles in the main body:
1. when you create a tabble on-the-fly while tagging a file with the quick-tag dialog, the tabble would not appear among the combinable tabbles until refresh.
2. when you tag a file with a tabble that wasn't in the combinables, the new tabble would not appear among the combinables until you manually refresh.
3. when you delete a file which was the only one with a given tabble, the tabbles would not disappear from the combinables until you manually refresh.
Bug fixed: sometimes the message "there are no files here" would appear at the wrong time and flicker while the file panel was being redrawn.
If you delete the tabble internet_address, the database would get corrupted. Now, in order to hide that tabble from the workspace, you can drag it into another tabble. (previously this would corrupt the DB as well).
You can now put tabble A into tabble B, and tabble B into tabble A. Previously this would cause Tabbles to hang forever at certain times.
Thumbnails are now stored in the AppData folder, so Windows does not index them.
fixed bug where you could not drop a file on the last tabble of the tree because the tooltip was getting in the way and flickering.
Fixed crash if you insert an invalid regular expression in some rule.
The rule editor now immediately tells you a given regular expression is invalid, instead of crashing later.
Bug fixed: if, in the one-click-tagging popup of some file, you choose "locate in tabbles, the file panel would be opened but the file itself would not be brought into view, forcing you to scroll down until you locate it with your eyes.
