Features and technology

Tabbles is more than a desktop-based DMS: it is a brand new way to handle your digital data.

Advanced DMS features:

• Lightning fast non hierarchical file sorting: get cross-sections of folders' structure. For example, you need three clicks to get all the files related to a certain customer or a certain product through a given amount of time.
• Persistent graphical tags: tabbles have different colors, shapes and look and can be searched visually. The tabbles can be sorted in different ways, and can be managed efficiently.

Selected features:

• The Combine function: use the Combine function to find your files according to what you remember of them and refine your searches dynamically using the suggestions of Tabbles. We call this also "horizontal browsing".
• Dynamical and incremental cross-linking of files: don’t worry anymore about the structure of your folders – add your files to as many tabbles as you want and use the Combine© function find the files you need.
• Auto-tagging using Smart tabbles: not all the categorizing has to be done manually. Tell Smart Tabbles© what they need to look for and they will categorize your files for you.
• Copy & paste, drag & drop and more: being a desktop application, with Tabbles© you can enjoy full integration with Windows Explorer, including keyboard shortcuts, copy&paste, drag&drop and the Explorer extension for your installed applications.
• Spatial view, categories, alphabetical: Tabbles© goes beyond the grid visualization common to management files. Your tabbles can be showed and sorted in different flavors, depending on your habits and your needs. (removed in version 1.5.3)
• Easy installation and offline work: Tabbles© user friendliness starts from the installation – no database server is required. Being a full desktop based application, all you need to do is run the installer and use it. Tabbles© doesn’t require to be online or connected to your office network: everything it needs to work is built in it.
• Social tagging (coming soon): the shared-tabbles features allows colleagues/friends to share tagging on LAN or in the Cloud. Requires no database server and required setup is minimal.

• WPF and F#: Tabbles© is developed using the latest Microsoft .net technologies, allowing to achieve unprecedented graphics and reliability.
• Custom database and XML import/export: the software is runs on top of a custom designed database. XML importing and exporting of data from and to the database is used in different situations during the software daily use and can as well be exploited to create customizable distributable installers Tabbles in order to accommodate specific partners needs.
• ZUI and vector graphics: Tabbles© features a fully zoom-able user interface, and each item in the UI is designed using vector graphics. (removed in version 1.5.3)
