Tabbles browser integration (Tabbles 4)   Create a bookmark with Tabbles bookmarklet into your browser’s bookmarks bar. Works with Tabbles 4 beta and above.

What is a bookmarklet and how does it work?

It’s a small piece of Javascript code that runs into your browser. It is also a straightforward way to have your browser to communicate with a desktop application.

How do I add Tabbles bookmarklet to the my browser’s bookmark’s bar?

  1. Create a new bookmark, just any site.
  2. Edit the bookmark and:
      1. Rename the bookmark to Tag with Tabbles
      2. In the URL field, replace the existing text with this line:

javascript:void(location.href=’tabbles:tag_url’+’;’+encodeURIComponent(document.title)+’;’+encodeURIComponent(window.location.href))

The result should look like this:

                Tag with Tabbles bookmarklet

The first time you click on the bookmarklet, you will see a pop up like the one below, so check the checkbox and click on Launch Application.  If everything worked fine, the Tabbles’ tagging window should pop up:

                Chrome_b

If everything worked fine, you’ll see the Tabbles’ tagging window opening (see below) and you’ll be able to tag your url:

        Tabbles tag URL window
