Kauft man ein MP3 Album wird dieses direkt auf euren Space geladen, aber der Platz den es dort verbraucht, nicht abgezogen . Und das Beste kommt noch. Es gibt zusätzlich 20GB Space für ein Jahr umsonst drauf! Also wer ohnehin seine Musik aus dem Netz streamt und auf Amazon kauft, der macht ein super Geschäft.

Ist das denn auch sicher?
Ehrlich gesagt habe ich keine Ahnung. Aber auch Dropbox verlässt sich meines Wissens nach auf die Amazon Server und hostet dort. Also was ihr denen anvertraut ist auch bei Amazon nicht sicherer.

Was hat das mit Tabbles zu tun?
Dokumente die ihr dort uppt, erhalten bei Ansicht über den Browser eine feste URL. Und wir haben gelernt das alles was mit statischer URL zu tun hat, kann man mit dem Bookmarklet auch tabbeln ! Juchu!

Also schnell die Tabbles (Amazon), (Dokumente), (Cloud Storage) anlegen und nutzen was euch geschenkt wird.

Google Docs und Windows Live Office speichern ihre Dokumente doch ebenso als URLs. Mit dem Tabbles Bookmarklet lassen sich dort erstellte und gespeicherte Dokumente  ebenso taggen wie jede andere Website.

Und dann teilt man dort ja auch seine Dateien mit anderen.

Also wenn das mal nicht echtes “social tagging” in der Cloud ist.

Das allein ist schon genial und sollte jeder haben.

Nun kommt aber noch das groÜartige Addon ScrapBook von Gomita oder ScrapBook Plus dazu.

Was macht dieses Addon? Nun wer es noch nicht kennt und liebt – ScrapBook erlaubt das abspeichern einer kompletten Webseite, ebenfalls per Rechtsklick. Die Seiten werden mit ihrem gesamten Inhalt wie Links und Bildern, Eins zu Eins archiviert und können zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt betrachtet oder bearbeitet werden.

Für archivierte Webseiten gibt es ein eigenes Menü mit hierarchischem Ordnersystem.

Gerade das jede archivierte Seite im eurem Browser unter eigenem Pfad angezeigt wird macht es nun möglich diese Seiten mit Tabbles und mit Hilfe des Tabbles-Bookmarklets zu taggen (kategorisieren).

Wenn ich also einen Screen mit Gyazo mache und dann diesen Screen mit ScrapBook archiviere kann ich ihn mit Tabbles, wie gewohnt, einfach und schnell wieder finden. Sowohl die online Links der Gyazo-Screens und der Webseiten lassen sich tabblen, als auch der die offline archivierten Seiten und Screens die man auf der eigenen Festplatte geschützt abgelegt hat.

Our new baby – Tabbles Portable – still needs some polishing, some of the coolest features are not there yet. One of those is the critically acclaimed (?) browser integration extension.

Anyway for those of you who enjoy to play around with stuff, I put together a workaround to install it, on our forum.

We’ve just released a beta introducing Browser integration via bookmarklet, it’s on our forum right now.

What’s so cool about it?

- You can group together files, web pages, and emails (if you’re using Gmail), with one click

You’ll have a little button on your browser, when you push it the Tabbles “Quick tag” window will pop-up and easily let you tag URLs…the cool thing is that you can tag URLs along with files and gmail emails, and find them together into the same tabbles (groups).

Plus, this works also as preliminary foundation to an SDK system, allowing people to write plugins and software to tag files/urls in all possible ways (and soon emails too). It’s all in the forum post.

How does it work?

We got the the hint from Kromeboy, he suggested us to register a custom protocol and then create a simple bookmarklet. The whole thing took less than a couple of days of work.

Step 1 – registering a custom protocol: you can make a couple of experiments on your own pc, copy&paste this text into a file.reg and double click on it. The function of registering a custom protocol is to tell Windows that each time the protocol is called, a certain application should be executed and what follows the protocol should be sent to the application as arguments. Here we’re registering the protocol “tabbles:” (looks a bit like “mailto:”, isn’t it? ) and mapping it on the path where tabbles.exe is located (on my computer).

Step 2 – the bookmarklet: this is also pretty easy for a non programmer like me. If you google you’ll find a bunch of tutorials and examples of Javascript code. The one we’re using is this:

What this piece of Javascript does is sending a string to the protocol tabbles: followed by the parameters “tag_url”, “title of the page” and “address of the page” – the “;” is used as separator. For example, when used on the tabbles homepage, the output of the bookmarklet is:
