Hi there,

we recently switched to .net framework 4… it has a bunch of impreved stuff.

The installation of the framework should take about 10mins, if it has been sitting there for 40 mins there is definitely something wrong…. the only suggestion I can give you is to restart the installation…

Let us know if you still have issues with it.

Hi

I downloaded the .net framework 4 and installed my self. So I runned Tabbles exe to update to the current version while the installer was working I go the following issues.
1)Windows explorer process id: 1160: The following applications are using files which the installer must update. You can either click close the application, Try Again or continu so that the installer continu and replace these files aftere system restart.

So I clicked continu and installer continu but then I got error message error 1001, Impossible to load the section DataContractSerializer located in the System Runtime Serialization verify machine.config is correctly configured.

I didnt uninstalled the previous version of Tabbles but was trying to update it to the current version, by installing over it. Is this wrong?

hey,
I’ve got no idea here :? :o

My suggestion is that you reboot the pc and try and install using the Tabbles installer – it should also install the framework automatically… when you get the error 1160 try closing the application…

let me know,

A

Hey there,

1) I’ve found this link: we know you need the Windows Installer 3… but never got a similar error before. Maybe this is the case?

2) we’ve just realized that the .net framework 4 is compatible with XP Sp3 and up… do you happen to have XP Sp2?

Please let me know if this works!

Hello there,

I digged a bit more and found that among the pre-requisites of the .net framework 4 there is Windows installer 3.1.

What is surprising to me is that the .net framework installer didn’ give any error message nor tried to install the windows installer 3.1 automatically – this sucks!

Please try this and let me know! :-)

Hi
I downloaded again .net framework and windows installer.
1) Executing .Net framework 4 asked me either to repair or to delete. S Clicked on repair and repair was with success and asked me to reboot which I didi
2) Clicked on windows installer and got the following message: Unsufficient space to treat this process…

So then i run again the last version of tabbles and got the same issu then above so install fails. Error 1001; Install UtilLib.dll: Unknown error

Why is not possible to repair/instal windows installer?

OMG, this starts to look like a soap-opera here! :D  :geek:  :?

I guess that the windows installer 3.1 is necessary to install the .net framework… but maybe it’s not to install Tabbles. If the framework was installed correctly (which I doubt…) maybe you can install Tabbles too.

Please try this:

- the installation package of Tabbles is in reality a self-extracting zip file. Extract it manually (with 7-zip for instance) and then run the file .msi.

Let me know if this works…

Hi
Well Still got the Error 1001

Is it Event ID 1000 — Performance Library Availability

A non-Microsoft DLL caused the error.

dunno

maybe you could trying with a different user on your PC?

WAIT! Try this:
1) download tabbles portable (the version that comes in zip file)
2) unzip it, and from the Tabbles_portable folder remove the file called _portable. Tabbles will now start to work as the normal one!

let me know!!!

Hi
I uninstalled the older version, then cleaned windows and a day later I installed the beta version and now is runing well, I believe its not wize to install the new version of Tabbles on the older one, since While Installing Tabbles adds a second desktop icon, so there is 2 Tabbles icon and this can be a reason for the error messages and roll back installation.
